Musings of a Florist :: visit flirty fleurs on Tuesdays and read a variety of musings by me – Alicia Schwede, editor of the blog.

I’ll be sharing some thoughts of what I’ve learned, what I would do differently, and what I’m thankful for on this flower filled journey I’ve been on since 1998.

Take Copious Notes
After each event take the time to write out notes –
Did you have any sourcing issues?
What flowers were or weren’t in season?
Take notes about the venue you delivered to.
Note who the contact at the venue is.
Review your cost of goods and what percentage was your final profit. (Not sure what to charge? I have a Pricing Worksheet Toolbox available here)
Note if any particular flower was more expensive than normal.
What would you have done differently?
What are you proud of and feel went well?
The more notes the better and many of those notes will prove helpful the following wedding/event seasons.
