I’ll be sharing some thoughts of what I’ve learned, what I would do differently, and what I’m thankful for on this flower filled journey I’ve been on since 1998.

The last post was rough and I’m sure it stirred up memories for others who have also experienced uncomfortable situations. Just remember to set your path and don’t let others push you off your path!

Now, while that situation was ugly I have plenty of other stories of how friends really do exist in this business. This one was quite apropos of life with weddings and flowers— One normal summer Saturday I had gone out to deliver a wedding order and returned back to my studio to clean up. I sent a text to my friend Amy ( @flowerhousedenver ) to ask how her wedding was going. She replied she was still at the venue setting up. I hoped in my SUV and headed to the venue figuring if I helped her finish we could go to dinner. Shortly after I arrived at the venue @chuckgrahamfd text to ask what I was doing and I told him I was helping Amy. Ten minutes later Chuck walks in the door and pitched in.
That’s just the way it would go. We weren’t ‘freelancing’, we were pitching in to help each other finish off a set-up — typically with the goal of going off to dinner so we could relax and enjoy each other’s company.
I do hope everyone finds their group of flower friends- it’s a great bond to share with a like-minded tribe. .
