Grammy’s Strawberry Patch
Grammy’s garden was a bountiful jungle of squash, zucchini, carrots, sunflowers, tomatoes, lettuce, grapes and more.
Even after 40 years, I can still remember my little feet pressed down on the soft, moist dirt and the warmth of her presence by my side. The melody of water droplets landed on leaves from a sprinkler in the distance. Tap… tap, tap… tap, tap. As if exposing a family secret, she knelt beside me and carefully swooped her hand down lifting a row of green leaves. To my delight, she revealed the most giant, ruby red strawberries my young eyes had ever seen! Plucking one, she wiped the dust off with her apron and held out the strawberry for me to eat in one swift bite. Mmmm mmm!
While that strawberry is long gone, this sweet memory lives on forever.

Inspired by the Dutch Golden Age of painting, a period in Dutch history roughly spanning the 17th
century.
The Dutch artists often painted still lifes of lush florals skillfully arranged in urns. Flowers stretching tall and
spilling over the edge of the urn.
For this piece locally grown florals & Foliages are artfully arranged to appear as a 3d Still life piece.
