I’ve been working with Longfield Gardens on building collections of flowers which complement each other in both the garden and for cut flower designing. It’s a wonderfully fun project and we are currently sharing six collections! Four of which are of spring flowers and two are late summer dahlia collections. Currently the two dahlia collections are sold out and the four spring bulb collections will be available to order starting in May.

This spring bulb collection from Alicia Schwede of Flirtyfleurs.com was inspired by the sumptuous color schemes of the 17th century Baroque period. Warm, coppery hues of midseason tulips Double Gudoshnik, Apricot Impression and Lambada are echoed in the ruffled petals of daffodil Delnashaugh.

This elegant floral arrangement was created by Alicia Schwede of Flirtyfleurs.com. She grew the flowers in her home garden, and all are varieties from Longfield Gardens. The combination of frosty white and dark burgundy looks dramatic, yet serene. The collection includes three dahlia varieties, plus the fragrant, late summer flowers of Acidanthera. This stunning collection of late-blooming tulips was developed by Seattle-area florist Alicia Schwede. Alicia grew the tulips in her home garden, then arranged and photographed them and featured the bouquet on her blog, Flirtyfleurs.com.
