Mandy Hess of MJM Designs interviews Corrine Heck founder of Details Flowers Software

If you’re like me, having to calculate your own recipes with bloom counts is ever so daunting and time consuming. I was also pricing my designs incorrectly. Once my flowers came in I either had too many leftover or underestimated my counts – argh! Well, in comes Details! A software CRM (customer relationship management) that has so many features that assist a designer on their backend that there’s too much to list. I spoke with their CEO and founder, Corinne, to learn more about this helpful tool.

Where did the idea for Details come from?

Details’ was an idea I always had inside my head from the 800 weddings and events, countless meetings with brides, thousands of proposals written & recipes designed that I could not stop thinking about since starting my event business in 2002! It took ten years to create the software, a few iterations canned, and too many development hours to count! We launched the software in 2015 and have grown to include nearly a thousand floral business owners from sixteen countries, and dozens of farms, growers, and suppliers from around the globe. We are proudly female-led and founded in Central Florida.

Who is Details created for?

What is your favorite feature of Details?

It depends on your objective, but some of my favorite tools that Details’ has are historical data on flower purchases, easy stem counting & flower orders. Of course, our beautiful swoon-worthy proposal templates that Brides love is another favorite! We also easily store recipes and can help entire template weddings, so that proposal writing doesn’t take hours and hours. Oh, and the color tools. I love too many features to have just one favorite!

Why is Details a need for floral designers?

Profitability is the clear answer. Florists need to propose their events quickly, accurately, and profitably. Details’ does all that and so much more. We are florists best kept secret, and often we hear “an answer to their prayers.”

Does Details offer integrations within the program?

Yes! Details’ is the only software with built-in API and connection to tools like Zapier, Quickbooks, and many world-class suppliers. Our development team works directly with our florists to create the tools they desire, and if we can’t build it, we often link it.

What are the ways Details can be personalized for each member?

Details’ is white-labeled for businesses to look their best and appear like it is their software. You can easily use our personalization tokens to write custom contracts and forms for your site. Additionally, florists can create collections of their favorite recipes & flowers to personalize the experience for their customers.

I know Details loves to invest in their members and create a wonderful since of community; what are your staff and your favorite ways to do this?

We try to exceed any expectation of what you would want in a software company. We spend time with our new florists to understand their business and set them up for success. We host monthly Masterclasses with special industry guests and Tips & Tricks from our members at no additional fees. We create video tutorials and blog content and sponsor many industry events throughout the year. We often give significant discounts to florists who meet us at these sponsored events to thank you for supporting the industry and meeting us first-hand. We love our florists, and they love us back!
