Located in Healdsburg, California is a great little rose garden and nursery called Russian River Rose Company. They have over 600 roses included in their collection! One spring day my mother and I made a visit to the gardens, we dilly-dallied about the paths in the display gardens (I like saying dilly-dallied), we quite enjoyed viewing the large selection of roses in bloom – so many sizes and colors. And, oh, the rose scent that was just wafting in the air, it truly added to the experience! We walked around on the garden paths that surround the owners’ personal home and then down the side of the property where rose arches were packed full of thick climbing rose plants in full bloom. They also had quite a few of their rose bushes available for purchase, along with a nice collection of Irises. Every April and May on Saturdays & Sundays they open up their display gardens to the public, so be sure to stop by if you are in the area.
