To the photographers, wedding planners, site coordinators, caterers & cake bakers out there – this week on Flirty Fleurs we have assembled a series of tips to help us strengthen our working relationships with you. We contacted numerous florists across the country and asked them for their input to create this collaborative post – we asked them to tell us what would they say to another vendor if given the chance.
This is what they have to say for site coordinators::
• A cart is a vendor’s best friend. We are VERY grateful for the use of yours! Every time there’s a cart waiting for my centerpieces I can’t contain an ear-to-ear grin!
• Please make load in and load out procedures as simple as possible. There are some venues that are so great to do business with because they make the load-in/load-out process so easy. There are some venues who won’t throw you a bone, it’s almost impossible to get in, and we constantly end up with parking tickets. 🙂 Since we’re dealing with a time-sensitive process, making it easier to get in and out is a huge plus.
• Please know that flexibility with your vendor load-in schedules is SO appreciated. Narrowing your vendor set-up times to near-impossible windows makes our jobs very difficult. For the most part, anything under two hours to set up a wedding is very difficult for both vendors and guests. We understand that you can’t give unlimited time for set-ups, but when the window is SO short, it compromises both of our professional reputations. It looks like we are running late and can’t get the job done.
• Great vendors like to work with great venues, don’t shoot yourself in the foot by not being accommodating.
We invite equally useful feedback from site coordinators, what can we do to help you?
